Sierra Canyon School is an independent secondary school that opened its doors to a founding freshman class in September 2005. The School is an outgrowth of the acclaimed Sierra Canyon EK-8 that has delivered excellence in elementary/middle school education for over twenty-five years.

The School is quickly becoming a hub of intellectual discourse, athletic prowess, and artistic expression. Not only are we building a state-of-the-art campus that has been described as “innovative,” “pioneering,” and “bold,” but we are also building a student body that is equally innovative, pioneering, and bold.

Sierra Canyon School offers a rigorous academic curriculum taught by passionate, diverse, and expert teachers. Our students embrace the intellectual challenge and flourish within this dynamic environment. We are developing a first-rate athletics program that fosters good sportsmanship, hard work, and healthy competition. We will open our auditorium to plays and concerts, our art galleries to sculpture and painting, our media center to film editing and audio tracking. Our college counselors will know each member of the junior and senior class, and they will work as advocates for your sons and daughters in the highly competitive college admissions process. Most importantly, Sierra Canyon School will work with you in order to provide the most challenging and rewarding education possible.

Over the past twenty years, I have had the privilege of working with many of the best educators and students in the Los Angeles area. Early in my career, I came to appreciate the lasting values and life-long connection one gets from a traditional independent school education. Great independent secondary schools not only prepare students for America’s finest universities by providing environments where the highest standards of scholarship flourish, but they also do what colleges rarely can; they help shape a young person’s character and commitment to others.
