As the school year quickly comes to an end, Grace and I want to thank all of the parents who have donated countless hours working with the Parent Association to assist the teachers and administrators here at Sierra Canyon School. Through your generous gift of time, incredible memories have been created for our children. Most recently, the fair brought together many parents for hours of painting, glittering, and decorating. The festivity would not be the grand event that it always is without the dedication of our parents.

FINAL TEACHER AND STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON

The final Middle School & Lower School Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for this school year is on Friday, May 23rd. The Upper School Teacher Appreciation Luncheon will be on Wednesday, May 28th. This is the last opportunity to say THANK YOU to our fabulous faculty and staff with an incredible luncheon! Please look for notices from your Room Rep with various ways to participate.

HOST A FAMILY AT THE NEW FAMILY PICNIC: Sunday, May 18th

Do you remember all the questions you had when you were new to Sierra Canyon? Here is an opportunity for parents to be helpful and resourceful to incoming Sierra Canyon families. This year we are going to pair host families with new families at the New Family Picnic and keep them partnered throughout the summer.

Will you host a family? As hosts, you and your family will attend the New Family Picnic on Sunday, May 18th from 3 – 6 p.m. As the new school year approaches, both the parents and new students will have a reliable resource to help them transition to our School. NEW SIERRA CANYON CANVAS BAGS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Order your new Sierra Canyon Logo Bag and save the Earth one re-usable bag at a time! We all know that the environment is our children’s most precious asset and that we all have a responsibility to do what we can to help mend our planet. Here is one small way that we can make a big difference! Cut out the plastic—go canvas!

$10 per bag, 2 bags for $18, or 3 bags for $24.

To order send a check payable to Big K Productions in your child's backpack. Include your name, your student’s name and class, and quantity of bags you are purchasing. Your bags will be sent home with your student. Every 10 bags purchased per class gives a free bag to your teacher! (All profits go to the Sierra Canyon Goes Green Recycling Effort.)

USED INK CARTRIDGES

The Parent Association recycles used ink cartridges. Please deposit your used ink cartridges in the Lower Campus Parent Lounge, or at the Upper School Campus.

ORDER SCRIP – Last Day to order is Thursday, May 29th

Place your orders for gift cards through Scrip until Thursday, May 29th. All of the money you earn from buying scrip goes directly into your family's personal field trip account and continues to accumulate until used as credit toward field trip costs. Scrip orders are placed every week on Thursday and are filled the following Thursday. Only checks are accepted for payment. Please make your checks payable to “SCSPA SCRIP.” When ordering, please use the most up-to-date form that is included here in The Trailblazer. This will reduce the number of errors in the scrip orders, as the available vendors and denominations can change.
