Curriculum Overview

 

Lower School, Grades EK-6

  • Development of basic skills within small groups
  • Constructed learning within a rigorous and often interdisciplinary framework
  • Master teachers utilizing a variety of instructional strategies
  • A School-wide theme that goes across age groups and grades and culminates in a Fair that is attended by 4000 people
  • Grade level presentations and graduations by exhibition
  • Character education including the development of interpersonal skills and concern for the welfare of others
  • Advisory programs and enriching off-campus experiences
  • Athletics that can encourage strong competitive skills and good sportsmanship

Middle School, Grades 7-8
Upper School, Grades 9-12

  • A traditional college preparatory education including AP courses, UC approved courses and the typical selection of courses offered at high end independent schools
  • Commitment to the Socratic traditions of rigorous academics, intellectual discourse, individual growth and free thought
