Educational Philosophy

The Upper School offers a rigorous academic curriculum taught by passionate, diverse, and expert teachers. Sierra Canyon students embrace the intellectual challenge and flourish within this dynamic environment.

The academic program provides a wide range of intellectual opportunities and allows the student to delve deeply into areas of particular interest. All students receive a fully UC-approved, comprehensive, four-year curriculum that includes extensive Honors and Advanced Placement courses. From laboratory sciences to literary seminars, students are engaged in the exhilarating world of the mind. They explore history across cultures and time. They immerse themselves in intensive language study. They challenge themselves through the full range of mathematics offerings from algebra to Advanced Placement calculus. Through it all, the students learn what it means to be intellectually vibrant individuals.
