Summer Programs
A Summer School Program is available to students entering 7th –
10th grades. Classes for rising 7th and 8th graders
are offered in math to provide review and reinforcement of basic skills.
Geometry
is offered for qualifying rising 9th and 10th graders for
advancement in math. The computer course offers an opportunity to
explore a
topic not offered during the regular school year. Except for Geometry I
and II,
these are non-credit courses. Classes will be held on the Upper Campus
in the
Science and Humanities Building.

complete the Online Enrollment Form, or download an Enrollment
Form and submit
it to Mr. James Winetrobe, Upper Campus, Extension 339, Room 221.

GEOMETRY I and II

This
class
includes two intensive three-week sessions (with a short break in
between),
which are equivalent to a full year of geometry. Both sessions must be
completed successfully for credit. Rising 9th and 10th grade students
who are
eligible to take this course will be notified by letter in early March.

PREPARING
FOR PRE-ALGEBRA

designed for
students who will be taking Pre-Algebra in the 2010-2011 school year:
rising 7th
graders who have just completed Course 2 and rising 8th graders who have
just
completed Foundations. This course will help students reinforce their
math
skills, provide additional math practice, and help students retain their
math skills during the summer. |
PREPARING FOR ALGEBRA

| This class is designed for
students who will be taking Algebra in the 2010-2011 school year: rising
7th
graders who have just completed Course 3 or Algebra Readiness and
rising 8th graders who have just completed Pre-Algebra. This course will
help students reinforce their math skills, provide additional math
practice,
and help students retain their math skills during the summer.

COMPUTER
GAME DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

| Using Adobe’s Flash
Animation Tool, students will learn to animate characters, objects,
events,
scenes, and movie clips that can be programmed to create computer games.
Students
will learn, design, and implement with ActionScript 3.0 in the Flash
Development Environment. Games will be created in our Technology Center
using
the Windows-based version of Adobe Flash, but the exports can be played
on any
home computer. Open to rising 7th – 10th graders. |
Classes
are
dependent upon achieving minimum enrollment. Math classes will have an
additional fee for a book and/or materials.
