Transportation
Services for 2010-2011
Sierra Canyon School is committed to providing an efficient, safe, and affordable alternative to driving your children to and from school. The School’s transportation plan is outlined below, including philosophy, fees, shuttle locations, times, communication procedures, and our expectations for student behavior.
Our number one priority is to transport your children to and from school in a safe and timely manner. For the 2010-2011 school year, we will provide nine shuttle-stop locations throughout the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. If you live between Valencia to the north, Sherman Oaks to the east, Encino and Tarzana to the south, and Calabasas to the west, you are within our transportation locations.
We are also pleased to once again offer our transportation services through Tumbleweed Transportation. Tumbleweed has provided their services to Sierra Canyon for the past eight years. We are impressed with their drivers’ professionalism, customer service and attention to detail.
Annual transportation fees for Middle and Upper School students are $2,150 round trip and $1,650 one-way. For Lower School students, the fees are $1,850 round trip and $1,250 one-way. A 25% discount is available for families with two or more children. Parents may select from three different payment plans, none of which have finance charges. In order to confirm your registration for the 2010–2011 school year, you must submit a $600 deposit along with the completed enrollment form by July 1st.
During the first week of school, Sierra Canyon will inform all students who use the transportation program about appropriate behavior while traveling on buses. It is our belief that the time spent on the bus is an extension of the classroom, and all rules that apply during school hours also apply on the bus.
In August you will receive information confirming your exact shuttle location, pick-up/drop-off times, bus number, and your driver’s name. If you have any questions, please contact Jaime Rosczewski Gonzalez at jgonzalez@sierracanyonschool.org.
