Farewell, Class of 2016!

On May 26th, the Sierra Canyon community joined in celebrating our eighth Upper School graduating class, the Class of 2016! Trustees, administrators and faculty led the procession followed by the Class of 2016, clad in their caps and gowns.

During the ceremony, Science Instructor Joseph Pflieger presented the faculty tribute to the seniors. The Valedictorian address was delivered by Dylan Rudolph '16, and Rachel Mair '16 presented the Salutatorian remarks.

Six seniors were recognized for individual excellence and were the recipients of the five graduation awards. The Founders Award—for the most gifted female and male scholar-athletes—was awarded to Matilda Schulman '16 and Eric Markes '16. The Renaissance Award—for the outstanding artist in both visual and performing arts—was awarded to Jordan Aronson '16. The Trustees Prize—for the quintessential Sierra Canyon student—was awarded to Emerson Tenney '16. The Head of School Award—for the student who embodies the core value of excellence—was awarded to Taylor Bell '16. The International Excellence Award—the international student who embodies the core value of excellence while fully engaging themselves in the Sierra Canyon community—the recipient was Hao Xiong '16.

Following the awarding of diplomas, the graduated seniors processed out of the ceremony to meet family and friends at the reception.
