| Fall Retreat:
At the beginning of the school year, Sierra Canyon
School students participate in the Fall Retreat.
During one week in early September, 9th graders
exchange a week on campus for a week in the California
wilderness. Retreat experiences range from
canoeing on the Colorado River to hiking in the
Sierra Nevada Mountains to river rafting on the
Kern River in Sequoia to camping in Yosemite. Advisory
groups travel together, forming indelible bonds.
Students also are given ample time to interact
between advisory groups. The retreats serves
as opportunities for fun, challenge, and camaraderie
among the Freshman class. |
