Environmental Engineering

Course Description

Students will learn about fundamental engineering concepts and scientific principles associated with engineering design principles.  Students will learn to identify problems, research, design, and test to create solutions to engineering challenges. With an emphasis on designing sustainable solutions to build a better world through engineering, students will explore topics such as different types of alternative energy, energy and the environment, and water system designs to deliver basic human needs. Students will be introduced to the work of Engineers Without Borders and Journeyman International to understand how engineers collaborate locally, nationally, and globally to help provide basic human needs.

For those in 8th grade, this course will build upon the 7th grade Exploratory Engineering course from the Fine Arts Rotation. For those entering 7th grade, it will provide a great preview.
