Course Description
Linguistics, the science of language, is filled with interesting curiosities about how languages were formed over time, an individual language’s similarities and differences to others. Students will study fundamental structures of different languages and common building blocks. The International Phonetic Alphabet will be featured as a means of looking at universal means of understanding all languages. Grammar will also be studied as a curiosity of making sense of certain effective rules of communication. Students will also study fascinating etymology, the study of word origins. Ultimately, this will all go towards a greater comprehension and appreciation of our own language.
