Puzzles, Games, and Problem-Solving

Course Description

Do you enjoy solving puzzles or playing strategy games with others? This class is designed to provide you with a fun and engaging way to develop your critical thinking and problem-solving skills. In this class, you will be introduced to a variety of puzzles, strategy games, and activities that will challenge your mind and encourage you to think outside the box.  Activities will include the game of chess, pentomino puzzle, Soma cube, logic puzzles, and Legos.

In addition, this class will include team-building activities that will encourage collaboration and communication among classmates. These activities will teach students how to work together effectively, solve problems as a team, and build trust and respect among their peers.
Overall, the Puzzles, Games and Problem-Solving class is an exciting and engaging opportunity for students to develop their cognitive and social-emotional skills while having fun and playing games. In the end, this class will help students become more confident problem solvers who are able to approach challenges with creativity, persistence, and optimism.

Note: The activities planned for the class will be adjusted to suit the group’s ability level and offer an appropriate level of difficulty.

Meet Mr. Tsvirinko!

Mr. Tsvirinko is a passionate math teacher with almost two decades of teaching experience. He is known for his creative teaching methods that help students develop a love for learning and problem solving. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, playing basketball, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Tsvirinko currently teaches at Oakwood Secondary School where he is committed to empowering his students to achieve their full potential in mathematics.
