Students Participate in National Latin Exam

On Wednesday, March 18th, over 140 6th – 12th grade students once again took part in the National Latin Exam.

The National Latin Exam is an assessment that unites both campuses, and rigorously evaluates students’ knowledge of all things Roman and Latin-based. What made this year notable was that the test was taken remotely. SC teachers worked very hard to make sure our students would be able to access the test digitally. Once it was completed, students remarked how confident they felt in their performance, and that they were grateful to be able to take an exam for which they had worked so hard to prepare.

Emblematic of resilience in the face of adversity, the test this year highlighted the immediate resourcefulness of students, teachers, and parents to sustain learning and provide opportunities to showcase achievement even at an immediately recent distance. Above all and as usual for this test, students had the chance to exercise the motto of Sierra Canyon, excellentia propter se – excellence for its own sake.
