LC Holds First Spanish Spelling Bee

Last Friday, March 11, for International Week, students in 5th Grade participated in the first Spanish Language Spelling Bee at Sierra Canyon, spelling over 130 words.

Students volunteered to participate in this new Spelling Bee and studied words during Spanish class and at home. Spelling words used in the contest were vocabulary words students have learned this year. Words were classified as easy, medium, or challenging and divided into categories: farm and wild animals, anatomy, school supplies, food, and high-frequency words.
Congratulations to ALL of the participants in this new Spelling Bee! A special shout-out to each of the Homeroom winners.
