Student Club Spotlight: Tuesday Tea Time

This year The Trailblazer is excited to give readers a glimpse inside our student-led clubs on the Upper Campus. Sit back and take a sip with this week’s spotlight, Tuesday Tea Time.

What is Tuesday Tea Time
Tuesday Tea Time is one of the oldest surviving clubs at Sierra Canyon. TTT even survived the COVID lockdown as we continued meetings over Zoom. Since lockdown has ended and mask requirements have dropped, we plan to host Tea Time this year in its original location in the Upper Campus Founder’s Union. During Tea Time (every Tuesday at lab), friends come together to talk while drinking the best beverage, tea. Currently, Tea Time is led by Dylan Ochoa ‘24 and Iayan Ansari ‘23, along with our faculty advisors, Dr. Ricci and Mr. Pflieger. Tea Time is open to all teachers and 9th -12th Grade students.
What do you talk about at TTT? Is it Tea or tea?
We don’t usually have any planned talking points, and conversations are never limited to just tea.
What type of tea do you drink?
Tea Time offers its own tea to members, though people are able to bring their own tea. Sometimes we’ll bring seasonal or obscure teas and tea-related snacks like biscuits. All tea provided at TTT is donated by and shared amongst its members.
Do club members learn about tea like wine enthusiasts learn about wine?
On special occasions, we host tea trivia games and offer prizes to the winners. We also share about our favorite types of tea and the best places to get it.
Thank you for sharing with us, TTT. We may stop by the next Tuesday we’re on campus to see what’s brewing!
