Last week's Lower School Football Night brought Trailblazer families together for a spirited evening celebrating school community and Sierra Canyon traditions during the Varsity Football team's home opener.
Before kickoff, Lower School students and families gathered for games, complimentary French fries, spirit stations, raffles, and photos with Blaze. A special thank you to our Parent Association for organizing the pregame festivities and helping create a fun and welcoming start to the evening. The celebration gave some of Sierra Canyon’s youngest Trailblazers a chance to experience the excitement of Friday night football while spending time with classmates, teachers, and families from across the Lower School community.
For several students, the evening became even more memorable as they took part in the game-day traditions. Three Lower School students opened the game with a performance of the National Anthem, while others joined the Varsity Football team as honorary water boys or took their place on the sidelines alongside Sierra Canyon cheerleaders. These special opportunities allowed our younger Trailblazers to experience firsthand the traditions they see from the stands.
The excitement continued at halftime as several raffle winners stepped into the spotlight. Caleb A. '35, Juliet M. '40, Jayden D. '39, and Amari P. '37 participated in the Lower School Field Goal Kicking Contest. Claire J. '38 won a Sierra Canyon Spirit Store gift card. Summer D. '39 won the opportunity to run out with the Varsity Football team at the upcoming Homecoming Game, and Charlie W. '37 won the VIP Homecoming Experience, complete with sideline passes for Charlie and two friends, couch seating, concierge service, and more.
Lower School Football Night reflects the vibrant community spirit of Sierra Canyon and creates meaningful connections across grade levels. Younger Trailblazers have the opportunity to experience the traditions and community that will shape their years ahead, while older students step into roles as leaders and role models, strengthening a sense of belonging that extends across both campuses.
