Sierra Canyon’s College Counseling Office offers the following statistical overview of the college decisions made by the Class of 2017:
There were 108 seniors in the Class of 2017, marking the ninth class to have graduated from Sierra Canyon School. Those 108 seniors submitted 789 applications. Each student submitted an average of 7.3 applications to colleges and universities. Seniors applied to 198 different colleges and were admitted to 147 colleges and universities, with multiple acceptances at 77 colleges.
We are proud of the fact that Sierra Canyon seniors will matriculate to 72 colleges and universities in the fall. The Class of 2017 will attend college in 22 different states (plus Washington D.C.). 40 students, 37% of the class, will attend colleges in California. There are 19 colleges that will enroll 2 or more members of the Class of 2017, 53% will attend private colleges and 40% will attend public institutions. The smallest undergraduate enrollment at an institution that one of our students will attend is 1067 students (Pitzer College, Claremont, CA), while the largest will be 44,718 students (University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI).
