Class of 2026 Proves “We Care” to Overseas Troops

For their service learning project this year, the fifth grade Eco-Warriors gave back to those who serve to protect us on a daily basis.

This past Monday and Tuesday, the fifth grade visited For the Troopsin Simi Valley. For the Troops is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to providing members of the American military with “We Care” packages containing basic necessities, goodies, games and—most of all—a show of support. Prior to attending, the fifth graders graciously donated over 100 pounds of those basic necessities.  While there, the Class of 2026 helped sort items ranging from socks, magazines, and stationary, to canned fruit, soups, and candy.

A tremendous sense of pride and appreciation was felt by all, as the students made meaningful cards to accompany their boxed goods for the men and women serving overseas. This was a truly unforgettable and rewarding experience and will serve as an everlasting memory for the Class of 2026!  For more information on For the Troops, please visit www.forthetroops.org.
