Class of 2019 Gets a Special Send-Off from Parent Association

Every spring on the Upper Campus, the seniors participate in one final group picture before they put on their caps and gowns.

For this special shot, the graduating class comes to school in shirts representing the college/university they will attend in the Fall.
This year, the Sierra Canyon School Parent Association (SCSPA) came on board to help make their day even more special and “Senior Day” was born.

On May 1st, the Class of 2019 filed into the gym decked out in their college gear. After taking the traditional photos, the fun began as they were invited by the SCSPA to enjoy a donut wall set up just for them, along with fresh fruit bouquets, chocolate dipped strawberries, and some sparkling apple cider to toast the occasion. Selfie boards were on hand, as well as a photo booth for group shots. Music played while everyone mingled, and when the event was over, students got to take home a picture of their choice from the photo booth in a Sierra Canyon frame along with their first SC Alumni t-shirt. “It was a really fun day to celebrate all of our hard work and accomplishments. The photo booth was my favorite part because my friends and I got tons of pictures that I’ll be able to hang in my dorm!” said senior, Liza Gill.

Members of the SCSPA, College Counseling department, teachers and, administrators were there to enjoy the festivities as well. Parent Association President, Shayne LaChappelle said, “It was definitely a sweet celebration for our senior class.”
