Green Team Kicks off New Year

The Lower School's Green team had its inaugural meeting this week, and the numbers and enthusiasm have never been higher.

The meeting started off with organic nosh – banana bread and vegan corn bread – followed by a rousing address from Green Team leader, Mr. Daniel Johnson. Several projects and activities were announced for the year with the intention of inspiring fun. Examples include building stepping stones in the garden, creating succulent heart-shaped wreaths for Valentine’s Day, and creative, artistic, environmentally friendly re-purposing of household items.

Check out the pictures to see the first garden work of the year as dozens of students planted broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts,  spinach, herbs, et al.  From children to adults alike, this team and its spirit decidedly demonstrate that the more you garden, the more you grow.

If any Lower School students would like to sign up to join the Green Team, please reach out to Mr. Johnson at djohnson@sierracanyonschool.org
