LS Students Get Creative with STEAM Challenges

Mrs. Tinoco, Mrs. Nichols, and Ms. Roth's students have been getting creative as they have been issued STEAM challenges to keep their innovation skills sharp while they're at home.

Mrs. Tinoco asked students to submit a cardboard challenge based on a website of amazing things to make out of cardboard. Since most of us have extra cardboard from deliveries while we are at home, the engineering challenges were designed for students to build with materials they already have in their house. Mason Anderson '26 created a marble run, and Cadence Painchaud '26 created a bank.

Mrs. Nichols and Ms. Roth asked students to build a Rube Goldberg machine. The goal of Rube Goldberg, Inc, is to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving in a non-traditional learning environment. And to have fun in the process. Learn more about Rube Goldberg machines by clicking here. Valentina Salmón '26 demonstrates off her marble run maze on the video page below.
