Alumni Spotlight: Sarah Koplowitz '10

After graduating from Sierra Canyon, I attended the University of Redlands in Redlands, California. I graduated in the class of 2014 after four years at the University, while working in Los Angeles with some of the world’s top brands, including Michael Kors and David Yurman, and immediately after graduation, with FENDI and Valentino on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills. In 2017 I left retail and followed my dream . . . I took a work-from-home job in recruiting to focus on my return to nutrition school in 2018. Graduating in 2019, I immersed myself in my health coaching career immediately, and in January 2020, I launched and established my LLC, Bee Well with Sarah, as a private cook and health coach. I began health coaching and cooking for my clients, because 90% of them truly needed help in the kitchen. My business is now based 100% on this aspect of health.

When did you first come to Sierra Canyon? What was your SC experience like? Are there any classes, clubs, teams, or teachers that greatly impacted you?

I had an interesting relationship with school. Growing up in NYC and quickly being thrown into a private school on the West Coast, I never LOVED school. I was a student at SC from 9^th-12^th grade.

I loved class and learning, but I hated homework, tests, and quizzes. I was a terrible test taker, which brought on a lot of anxiety. I was a B and C student for most of my high school career. In college, I was an A student. I never bonded with specific teachers in high school, and I was not a part of any clubs. I still can say that I had a great experience with my teachers. I remember well my favorite, Mr. Fennell, who has greatly impacted my life.
