MS Math Team Competes in Math League Contest
On Sunday, November 15, Sierra Canyon’s Middle School Math Team (Ryan Crowther ‘27, Atticus Masuzawa ‘27, Thomas McCurley ‘27, Trevor Mertzel ’27, Nirvaan Pai ‘27, Theodore Pakkala ’27, Shaun Masada ’26, Nikhil McGowan ’26, Finn Retsky ’26, Hannah LaChapelle ’25, and Mallika Vairavan ’25) competed in the online mathleague.org Middle School Division Competition.
mathleague.org releases several Middle School Contest Problem Sets each year to help students prepare for other contests with a similar format. These are administered at local contests, and top scorers are invited to participate in our innovative nationwide (INTER)2 SECT Championship in April.
After an impressive showing by everyone, Crowther, Masada, McGowan, LaChapelle, and Vairavan are advancing to compete in the (INTER)2sect Championship to be held in Spring 2021.
