Thomas M. '27 Headed to L.A. Regional Spelling Bee

Congratulations to Spelling Bee Finalist Thomas M. ’27!

Thomas has qualified for the L.A. County Scripps Regional Spelling Bee's final round based on his performance and test scores in previous rounds. His journey began with the Lower Campus Annual Spelling Bee in February, via Zoom.

Thomas participated in the Sierra Canyon School Spelling Bee last year as a 5th Grade student. It was a memorable experience for him to have the entire school watching and cheering for the spellers. He knew he wanted to do better this year and feels honored that he is representing Sierra Canyon.

When asked about his preparation for the big event this weekend, this Scripps National Spelling Bee finalist notes that his routine includes some soccer matches to manage any butterflies, and study sessions so he can relax in between games and classes.

Thomas will compete in the live bee this Saturday, along with 18 other finalists who qualified for this event. Although the contest is not open for guests to view, we are sure his SC family will be cheering him on from afar.

Good luck, Thomas! This accomplishment is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!
