Hello, Journey. Thank you for sitting down and talking with The Trailblazer. Tell us about your life at Sierra Canyon. When did you come to SC? As you approach graduation and plan for your next chapter, what have been some of the best parts of high school for you, and what advice would you give to a freshman starting Sierra Canyon?
Now that I'm a senior, one of the best parts of high school has been witnessing my self-growth. I've grown so much in these four years. I'm a full-time student with a blossoming acting career, I own my own business, and now I'm looking forward to exploring a career in architecture. Specifically, as an actress, my career has taken off in the last two years. I have a recurring role on the Netflix series Family Reunion, The CBS Courthouse drama All Rise, and the New Edition Story, as well as some pretty cool upcoming projects. The Journey Collection is a movement that encourages others to embrace being different. My advice to any incoming freshman at Sierra Canyon is to strive to make yourself proud. Put your time into what you love and what you're passionate about. There's so much to explore and experience at our age. Take advantage of that.
Tell us a little about Different and what this project means to you.
Different is a brand, a movement really, that celebrates and encourages being yourself, loving who you are, and embracing everything about you. I've had my own insecurities with embracing being different, and I know others have, too. The cool thing about being different is that every little weird thing about yourself is what makes you special and one of a kind. That's the message that I wanted to push.

What is in store for you next year? Will you dive into your projects full time or begin school right away?
I have been accepted to Prairie View A&M University's architecture program and will begin taking classes virtually this summer. I am excited to then take a gap year during the fall session to spend time focusing on my business and acting career.
In 10 years, what would you most like to say that you accomplished?
In 10 years, I will be able to say that I have used my platform to encourage, inspire, and celebrate others, embracing what makes them different.
What was your absolute most exciting, best day at Sierra Canyon?
There are so many exciting days to choose from, but the most exciting day for me was when I made the cheer team. When I got the news, my best friend Lucky and I screamed for HOURS! Just being a part of cheer was my biggest dream as a freshman. Being able to lead my team as a captain this year felt unreal. It made me feel like a leader. At that moment, I thought, I can do this.
Did you have a favorite teacher at SC? If so, who and why?
I had a lot of favorite teachers, honestly. Some of my favorites are Ms. Lilia Kibarska, Mr. Garcia, Mr. Gaeta (Haeta), Coach Dick, Coach Troy, Mrs. Tina Lee, Mr. Rosenblum, Mr. Winetrobe, Ms. Vroom, Mrs. Morrow, Mrs. Kristy
Walker, Ms. H, and Mr. Perry. This group of teachers was always there for me, no matter what. I developed good relationships with them, and they've all had a beautiful impact on my life. :)
Is there anything else you would like to share with The Trailblazer?
It's been such a crazy journey, but I enjoyed my time here at SC. I hope my years here leave a mark and inspire my fellow trailblazers to Be Different, Stay Different, and Embrace your Different.
