Quill & Scroll Honorary Society Inducts New Members
The Sierra Canyon Chapter of the Quill & Scroll Honorary Society inducted its new members this week in a special swearing-in ceremony in Ms. Zielinski’s room.
The ceremony took place on Wednesday, May 26, coinciding with the distribution of the 2020-21 edition of The Rambler to seniors and to all students on Friday. The Rambler is an important accomplishment, especially in this year of pandemic.
The Quill and Scroll is the International Honorary Society for High School Journalists and was founded at the University of Iowa in 1926. To become a member of the Society, a student must satisfy five qualifications:
Be a junior or senior
Scholastically, be in the upper third of the class
Must have done superior work in some phase of high school journalism
Be recommended by the adviser of journalistic work
Be approved by the Society’s executive director
