9th Grade Breakout Brings Class of 2025 Together

The 9th Grade Breakout was a day to bring the entire 9th Grade together to build community and foster relationships.

Students began their day with spirited competitions, including Extreme Rock Paper Scissors and an Advisory face-off on SC’s football field.

In the afternoon, students shifted their focus to introspection and setting goals for the year. A group of leaders from the Classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024 led a workshop on identity that encouraged students to explore who they are and look for common ground with their peers. Students ended the day writing a letter to their future self about who they are today and setting intentions for who they will be a year from now. These letters will be mailed to students next September so they can reflect on the day and the growth that will occur.

Of course, no good breakout is complete without a special menu. The students were treated to delicious burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, and fries from Sierra Canyon alumnus Danny Gordon ‘12 and his food truck catering company, Hard Pressed. They ended the day enjoying a delicious ice cream social catered by campus favorite, Nitropod.

It was wonderful to see the Class of 2025 come together to enjoy this full day of events. They look forward to building on this momentum in weekly Advisory meetings for the remainder of the school year.
