Pre-K has a Blast at the Sock Hop

Pre-Kindergarten students had a blast celebrating the 50th day of school. Donning poodle skirts, cuffed jeans and T-shirts, and Chuck Taylors, students looked like they were transported to the era of malt shops and drive-ins.

The youngest Trailblazers have been counting the days of school, eagerly anticipating the 50th day milestone. Students have been learning cardinal numbers, how to count by 10s, and how many tens comprise the big number 50! In addition to math, the students completed a language arts project by writing about what they would like to be when they are 50 years old. It seems we will have lots of firefighters, astronauts, princesses, and veterinarians as alumni in 2067. To continue the celebration, Pre-Kindergarten families and teachers organized a 1950's themed sock hop in the afternoon, complete with hula-hoops and hopscotch. From enjoying milkshakes and fries to learning how to do the twist, the students all agreed the party was "the living end!"
