SC places near the top at Los Angeles City College annual Math Contest

Once again, the SC math team puts in impressive work at yet another math competition, under the direction of math professor Chris Tillman. Read on about the math team's job well done. 

The Sierra Canyon Math Team earned 4th place at the LACC annual Math Contest on Saturday, March 4, 2017!

With a total of 54 schools and 300 students participating, the competition required contestants to solve ten challenging problems and be scored based the quality of their proofs. Finishing 2nd overall among individuals was Sierra Canyon’s own Bobby Zhang (’17)! Emily Zhai (’18) also had an outstanding performance, earning 19th place in the contest.

The Team also included Sid Barua (’18), Sara Chen (’18), Tony Wu (’18), David Zhou (’18), Leo Li (’19), Jackie Liu (’19), Cindy Wang (’19), Gloria Wang (’19), Milad Jalala (’20), Gowri Vadmal (’20), and Steven Wang (’20).
