The 8th annual Sierra Canyon Film Festival

Student filmmakers, friends, family, and faculty members were treated to 13 short films, all produced by high school students in the United States.

A record number of Sierra Canyon student films, six in total, were screened in this year’s festival, which was attended by festival founder and Sierra Canyon alumnus Tanner Cusumano ’13.

Sierra Canyon parent and industry pro Evan Crooke, President and CEO of Osiris Entertainment, was the evening’s guest speaker. He met with a panel of student filmmakers, answering questions and offering advice about being a working professional in Hollywood.  Awards were presented to “One in Thirty: The Story of Henry Oster” for Best Documentary, Brewster Parsons for Best Performance in the Sierra Canyon film “Date with Destiny” (written and directed by Matthew Serletic ’19 and Aaron Wank ’18), and “Questionable” for Best in Fest. Additionally, “Rosamund,” by Coco Hua ’19, Iris Guo ’19, and Amelia Liu ’19 took home the Tanner Cusumano Trailblazer Award for best Sierra Canyon film of the year.
