Brooke Mostman '22 Heads to National Equestrian Competition
Congratulations to equestrian, Brooke Mostman ’22 who qualified to compete in Pennsylvania next week in a National Showdown of the Top 12 Hunters in the country at 3”3 for ages 17 and under.
Mostman who rides as a 13-year-old, will be the youngest competitor in this division. Shortly following her Pennsylvania competition, she will go on to equitation finals in Kentucky for her final national competition of the year.
Now riding seriously for three and a half years, Mostman already has an impressive amount of accomplishments under her belt, including currently being ranked Number 1 in the country for Junior Hunters 3”3, ages 15 and under, and also Number 1 on the pacific coast for equitation, ages 14 and under. She was in the Top Ten for the U.S. Jump Seat Medal Final 2018, and Top Five of the Pacific Coast Medal Final, ages 14 and under.
Practicing a sport outside of school at such a high level is no easy feat as many of our student-athletes will attest. Although Mostman will be missing school to compete, she corresponds via email with instructors for assignments and works with outside tutors in order to stay on pace with her classes. When provided at the horseshow competition venue, she spends time with her studies at on-site schools even when she is out of town.
