Cross Country Wins League Championship

Sierra Canyon Girls Cross Country had a historic win on Tuesday afternoon when they took the Gold Coast League Championship for the first time.

The girls team ended the regular league season undefeated as they were in all four league meets last year, resulting in winning the league finals by 22 points to claim the title.

In the girls varsity race, Isis Diaz '22 put on a spectacular show as she was the first to cross the finish line in 17:32. She outdistanced the closest competitor by one minute.

Rounding out the scoring was Celia Vaughn '22 and Viktoria Balbin '22, Bobbie Golik '19 and Alissa Pfeffer '22. The girls team will compete next in the CIF-SS Prelims November 10th at Riverside City Cross Country Course.

Aidan Jones '20 ran a fantastic race to finish in fourth place in the boys varsity race. Aidan again narrowly missed breaking 16 minutes with a time of 16:05. Aidan's effort landed him a spot in the upcoming CIF-SS Prelims.

The girls team had six runners finish with 1st and 2nd Team Honors (Diaz, Vaughn, Balbin, Golik, Pfeffer and Emily Chong '21). Aidan Jones finished with 1st Team Honors.
