4th Grade's Favorite Animals Get Mindmapping Treatment

While the rain kept students busy in their classrooms this week, the 4th grade stayed curious by exploring the concept of mindmapping.

Mindmapping is a brainstorming technique frequently used by students to visually organize ideas and data around a single topic.

Once students were ready to create their own mindmap, each one identified an animal to use for the project, and the brainstorming began as they linked and diagrammed categories and subcategories related to their animal. As evidenced from the pictures and smiling faces, this project was as much fun as it was successful.

The 4th grade is using mindmapping in preparation for an upcoming research report they are preparing on an animal of their choice. Study techniques like mindmapping are valuable methods to use when approaching academic projects and essays throughout a student’s academic career and it looks like this group of 4th graders is ready to tackle any project.
