Meet the Voices of the Future

Voices of the Future

The Sierra Canyon Fund is the most crucial fundraising effort each year. At Sierra Canyon, we believe in the dreams and aspirations of every student. Voices of the Future embodies a promise that stretches beyond our speaking voice. It represents diverse perspectives, incredible talents, innovative ideas, and transformative ambitions. The Fund impacts each Voice of the Future and teacher annually in areas like faculty salaries and professional development, student athletics and extracurricular activities, financial aid, facilities enhancements, and so much more! Think about all the things that make Sierra Canyon so unique and why you sent your student here—that is what the Sierra Canyon Fund supports.

Meet the Voices of the Future—getting a glimpse of how your philanthropic support amplifies their voices—raising them to new heights equipped with knowledge, empathy, and strength. Your participation in the Sierra Canyon Fund, no matter the size of your gift—$10 to $10,000, will continue to shape a brighter tomorrow through the voices who will lead us there. Consider a donation amount that is meaningful to your family and make that commitment today!

FAQs

List of 7 frequently asked questions.

  • How do we increase our annual fund participation?

Each family’s gift or pledge is counted toward the School’s participation goal as soon as we receive it. Each family’s contribution is on behalf of any and all children at Sierra Canyon. There’s no need to make more than one gift (unless you want to!). With greater parent participation, the School is able to apply for additional grant support.
  • My child receives financial aid, so I’m not expected to give, right?

The expectation is that every family will give something every year. No amount is too small (or too great!) to show your commitment to the mission and purpose of Sierra Canyon School.
  • I already pay full tuition, so why should I give MORE?

Although we recognize that tuition is a big commitment for each family to pay annually, we encourage you to think about all the things that make Sierra Canyon so special and the reasons why you chose to send your student here. The annual fund makes all of this and more possible with the support of our donors.

  • How much should our family contribute?

Please give as generously as possible. Your donation is a reflection of your gratitude for the Sierra Canyon educational experience and your capacity to make a meaningful gift. Gifts of all sizes are welcome and very much appreciated!
  • How is the money used?

Gifts made to the Sierra Canyon Fund are used in the current year to support all aspects of the School, including recruiting and retaining top faculty and staff, experiential learning opportunities for the students that broaden their academic perspective, and financial aid for qualified families.
  • Why doesn’t Sierra Canyon just raise tuition?

One of the important aspects of Sierra Canyon is our socio-economic diversity, which means we offer financial aid to nearly 40% of qualified families. Being a more affordable independent school allows us to attract a broader range of great students. The Sierra Canyon Fund allows each family to give at a level that is meaningful for them, and a charitable gift is tax deductible, while tuition is not.
  • Is our gift tax deductible?

Yes, annual fund donations are fully tax deductible. Sierra Canyon School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
