Lower School Basketball Night Sets Tip-Off Fun

Sierra Canyon's youngest basketball fans showed their spirit at Lower School Basketball Night.

Last Friday evening was a stunning illustration of how an event like this celebrates the unity of our community while reminding us that although we have two campuses, we are one school. Over 600 Trailblazers gathered in the sold-out Upper Campus Gym to celebrate Lower School Basketball Night and cheer on the Boys Basketball Team.

Pre-Kindergarten through 6th Grade students and their families came out in force for festivities that included photos with Blaze, temporary tattoos, bead necklaces, pompoms, donuts, and plenty of SC merch! Lower School student Taura F. '30 tipped off the game with the national anthem. During halftime, selected students had the chance to show off their basketball skills and compete in a fun challenge. Excitement filled the air as families cheered on the participants. The winner was Zoë H. '32, who walked away with an autographed basketball—a keepsake to mark the occasion.

The night would not have been complete without a raffle featuring big prizes, such as the Basketball VIP Experience, where Lower School students entered their names for a chance to sit courtside at an upcoming basketball game of their choosing! The raffle added a layer of excitement to the already lively atmosphere, with students eagerly anticipating the announcement of the lucky winner. This highly coveted prize made the night even more memorable for the 2024 winner, Cal O. '35. Ultimately, the Trailblazers defeated Crespi with an 84-57 victory, and it was an unforgettable evening filled with school spirit and fun!
