Steve Burnett began working at Sierra Canyon in 2005. In those years, he has been a member of the Admissions, Athletics, and College Counseling Departments. Prior to Sierra Canyon, Steve spent five years as the Associate Director of College Counseling at Marlborough School, where he coached the Basketball Team to a CIF title in 2004. Steve has vast experience in the college admissions world, working at Villanova University as the Midwest Regional Admissions Representative living in Chicago and at Lafayette College as an Assistant Director of Admission. Steve enjoyed reading applications, interviewing students, serving on the admission committee, and making final admission decisions. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Steve attended Colgate University, where he was a member of the Basketball Team and hosted a popular weekly radio show.

Meredith Britt

Director of College Counseling

Meredith Britt joined the Sierra Canyon community in 2022 after spending 15+ years in college admission and college counseling. A native Midwesterner, she grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and attended Vanderbilt University for college and graduate school. Meredith has worked for seven different colleges throughout her career, and she has experience reviewing college applications for Vanderbilt, USC, and UC Berkeley and medical school applications for UCLA. After serving as the Senior Assistant Director in USC’s Undergraduate Admission Office for several years, she worked in college counseling at two other high schools, including the Director of College Counseling at Louisville High School. With a passion for the performing arts and athletics, she can often be found at SC sporting events and performances with her husband and two young sons.

Amy Gvozden

Assistant Director of College Counseling

Amy Gvozden joined the College Counseling Department in 2020 after spending over a decade in college admissions and student services at St. John’s College and Claremont Graduate University. In an effort to stay connected to the college admissions side of the desk, she works annually as a Freshman Application Reader for UCLA. Amy is a proud alumna of Texas Tech University (Bachelor of Music Education) and St. John’s College (Master of Arts in Liberal Arts), institutions that both offered her deep connections to her peers and the subjects she studied. When she is not at SC, Amy enjoys exploring Los Angeles's vast cultural and culinary landscape with her husband and toddler.
