SC Mathletes of All Ages Compete in International Competition

Math Kangaroo is an international math competition held every year on the third Thursday in March. 

This year, Math Kangaroo was given as a 75-minute-long online contest that spanned over two months. 36 Sierra Canyon students in grades 4-12 competed. Notably, the following students were some of the highest scorers in each grade level:

In February 2020, SC students in grades 6-8 participated in the California Math League (CaML). CaML contest is a grade-level based competition with 35 multiple-choice questions. The top five scorers from each grade are entered as a team and judged against all participating schools in California. This year, 57 - 68 schools were represented in the league.
 
6th Grade Competition: SC placed 24th in the league, and Nikhil McGowan placed 3rd in the region.
7th Grade Competition: SC placed 4th in the region.
8th Grade Competition: SC placed 10th in the league, and Alex Bai placed 1st in the league. SC placed 1st in the region, and Alex Bai placed first in the region. Stone Ding ’24 placed 4th in the region.
