Graduation 2020: The Processional Must Go On!
After much anticipation, Sierra Canyon announced yesterday that the Class of 2020 will have their chance to accept their diplomas in person – from a safe physical distance of course!
At the end of many robust conversations about how to honor SC graduates and this milestone in their lives, it became clear that a drive-through graduation would be an inadequate celebration of their work. Overwhelmingly, students and parents asked the Upper School Administration to do whatever they could to provide a live ceremony.
Although the original date had to be rescheduled, this year’s unique ceremony will take place next weekend in Malibu at Camp Hess Kramer owned by Wilshire Boulevard Temple, against a natural and beautifully serene backdrop. Perhaps most importantly, graduates will be in the (distant) presence of family and friends.
Congratulations to all of our seniors and their families! We hope this special ceremony will be one you’ll never forget!
