Kai and Jori Glover '26 are Official Game Growers

Trailblazers Jori and Kai Glover ’26 have had an exciting week!

The Middle School twins have been chosen by Nike and the L.A. Sparks to join their Game Growers movement, which serves to encourage more 7th and 8th Grade girls to play sports.

The announcement was revealed on the Sparks’ social platforms this week. The Glovers will be pitching their idea this weekend at the Nike Virtual Camp. In addition to Kai and Jori, there will be pairs of co-captains representing 40 WNBA & NBA teams. A total of 80 girls across the country are participating in this leadership opportunity, which runs through May 31, 2021.

The Glover sisters are developing an empowerment toolkit to encourage girls to “try out” instead of “sitting out,” regardless of their skill level or the order in which they are selected. This toolkit is based on the girls’ own experience of being on teams that consistently did not have enough players.

More about Game Growers
The goal of Game Growers is for girls to team up in pairs and share their idea to build sports for girls via the online Co-Captain application. Girls can also enroll to be a Game Growers Teammate and participate in exclusive Game Growers experiences that empower them to increase sport participation for girls in their communities.

Participating WNBA and NBA teams select their Game Growers Co-Captains. Game Growers Co-Captains then work with their WNBA and NBA teammates to develop their Game Plans. Finally, with the help of their WNBA and NBA team, Game Grower Co-Captains share their final Game Plans with the world, and Nike showcases the ideas.
