SC Celebrates Women's History Month

Did you know?

Women’s History Month dates back to 1981 when Congress passed Public Law 97-28. With this law, President Reagan proclaimed the week of March 7, 1982, as “Women’s History Week.” Between 1987 and 1994, additional joint resolutions established the entire month of March as “Women’s History Month.”

On March 8, we celebrate International Women’s Day. In short, this month enables us to honor the contributions and achievements women and girls have made not only in the United States but across the world. The month further represents an opportunity to continue advocating for gender equity and human rights of all women and girls.

In recognition of the vital contributions made by strong and smart women in all of our lives, Sierra Canyon is proud to present Trailblazing Women of SC, where we will celebrate some of our most recognizable and influential women on campus. Please be sure to watch our social media channels and help us celebrate these remarkable faculty and staff members.
