Kindergarten Celebrates Earth Day!

Kindergarteners have been learning about the earth and the life cycles of its plants and insects, the weather, and the water cycle.

Building up to Earth Day, the Class of 2033 has been busy conducting science experiments about clouds and the water cycle, and each are observing and journaling the growth of a set of caterpillars as they go through metamorphosis. When metamorphosis is complete, if the timing is right, this will coincide closely with their own Kindergarten culmination.

The students celebrated the day with an Earth Day project, stories, and a live virtual field trip on Zoom with the Tree People organization of Los Angeles. In their virtual field trip, the Kindergarten class learned about trees, healthy soil, mulch and “mulch medicine,” how to reduce, reuse, and recycle, and how to care for the earth in general.
