5th Grade Spanish Skits Focus on Conversation

In Spanish class, students in 5th Grade have recently been learning core vocabulary divided into themes (farm animals, wild animals, school supplies, food, etc.). They will be learning ten sets of vocabulary with 24 words in each theme.

Once students have learned the core vocabulary, they focus on writing sentences and building short conversations.

Students are learning that language is about communicating with others. Learning vocabulary to express their needs and observations will help students when they travel to a Spanish-speaking country.

  • Conversation #1: Asher S. '29 and Jasper B. '29 - Conversation about their favorite farm animals
  • Conversation #2: Juniper D. '29 and Chidi O. '29 - Conversation about their zoo experience
  • Conversation #3: Cate L. '29 and Harper S. '29 - Conversation about purchasing school materials
Initially, this project concluded with pairs reading their skits aloud to their class. However, many pairs have memorized and enjoyed performing their acts at assemblies on the Lower Campus.

We are so pleased to see the Class of 2029 creating and enjoying conversations in Spanish. Felicidades, estudiantes!
