Kindergarten Students Have a BEAR-y Good Day

Our Kindergarteners enjoyed their first theme day this week—Teddy Bear Day! Members of the Class of 2035 were asked to bring their favorite teddy bear buddies to school for some fun and innovative learning.

The morning began with Mr. Skrumbis reading a story to all the Kindergarteners and their teddy bears. Students then started their Teddy Bear Exploration, rotating through centers to measure the height and belly of their bears, weigh their bears, and draw pictures of their bears. Everyone also enjoyed graphing, sorting, and labeling their furry friends.

After a lunchtime Teddy Bear Picnic, teddy bear activities continued throughout the afternoon. Kindergartners made beautiful “tear art” bear portraits and went on an exciting “teddy bear hunt” adventure with Mr. Horwitz up in the Summit. The children ended this special day with a bear-themed box filled with teddy bear treats. It was a BEARY fun day for all!

Throughout the year, Kindergarten enjoys special theme days that provide opportunities to focus on language arts, math, and science skills.
