MS Math Team's Zack Mazaheri advances to State Competition
On Saturday, February 25th, Sierra Canyon’s Middle School Math Team competed in the San Fernando Valley Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition. Read on about the Math Team's accomplishments!
The Sierra Canyon Middle School Math Team, under the instruction of teacher Chris Tillman, placed 10th overall in the San Fernando Valley Chapter MATHCOUNTS competition. Zack Mazaheri ('21) placed 8th individually out of over 130 competitors. Zack sat for the elimination-style, and very exciting, Countdown Round.
Sierra Canyon was represented at the contest by Rayan Ansari (’21), Pierre Baza (’21), Nick Kanji (’21), Zach Mazaheri (’21), Kosi Nwabueze (’21), Otto Rahmel (’22), Grant Yabuki (’22), Owen Yabuki (’22), Iayan Ansari (’23) and Aaron Kunitz (’23). The State Competition will take place on Sunday, March 12th.
