Student government teaches our students that they can make a difference at Sierra Canyon, preparing them for future leadership roles in the wider community. Our student leaders are vital in linking the student body to the administration, promoting positive change, and organizing community-building events. Meet the following students who have been elected by their peers to lead the Associated Student Body (Upper School) and Student Council (Middle School).
Lower Campus
Student Leadership
The Lower Campus Student Leadership program inspires 4th-6th Grade students to lead with purpose and make a meaningful impact on our school and the broader community.
Through an engaging blend of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and inspiring speaker opportunities, students develop essential leadership skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Working in committees and collaborating with peers, participants drive exciting initiatives, spearhead service projects, and contribute to lasting, positive change.
This dynamic program encourages young leaders to take charge, inspire others, and leave a lasting legacy at the Lower School.
Upper Campus
Student Leadership
The Middle School Student Council and Upper School Associated Student Body (ASB) serve as essential bridges between the student body and the administration. These student-led organizations cultivate leadership skills, promote school spirit, and encourage community engagement. Organizing impactful events and initiatives enhances the Sierra Canyon experience while ensuring student voices are heard and valued in the decision-making process.
This year, ASB proudly consists of 24 members, led by President Melissa E. '25 and Vice President Finn R. '26. In the Middle School, the Student Council is headed by President Derby B. '30 and Vice President Jake F. '29, exemplifying leadership across the Upper Campus.

Clubs and Organizations
Extracurricular involvement is a vital part of the learning at Sierra Canyon. Clubs and organizations allow students and their faculty sponsors to engage in shared learning, passion, and educational growth outside of the traditional boundaries of the classroom.
Yes! To create a club or organization, students must submit a club registration form, which is available throughout the year from the Upper School Office and select a faculty advisor.
In order to be considered active, a club must meet at least once a month and must sponsor at least one of the following during the school year: an assembly, a lunchtime presentation, a community service project or an on- or off-campus event.
Clubs are eligible to apply for monetary grants administered by the Student Government Association to help fund their activities.
