JuJu Watkins Jersey Retirement Ceremony

back to calendar

Location: Feinberg Family Gym (Upper Campus Gym)

This Friday, January 9, for the first time in school history, Sierra Canyon will retire the jersey of one of its incredible student-athletes: Trailblazer Girls Basketball legend Juju Watkins '23.

Watkins represents the pinnacle of female athletic and academic excellence at Sierra Canyon. Donning No. 12, she led the Trailblazers during her junior year to an Open Division state title and a 30-2 record. As a senior, Watkins guided the Trailblazers to a CIF Southern Section Open Division title and a 31-1 record, averaging 27.3 points, 13.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. One of her most iconic games took place on Senior Night, when she scored a career-high 60 points in an 88-39 win over Notre Dame.

The accolades that Watkins amassed while representing Sierra Canyon Girls Basketball are truly unmatched: McDonald’s All-American, Gatorade National Player of the Year, Naismith Prep Player of the Year, Los Angeles Times and Los Angeles Daily News player of the year honors, and so much more. As the top-rated recruit coming out of high school, Watkins chose to stay close to home by attending the University of Southern California.

Come experience another unforgettable night as we honor a true Trailblazer legend during halftime of the Boys Basketball Varsity game against Notre Dame.
