Student Activities

Student Government

The purpose of Student Council is to provide an opportunity for students to make decisions about activities and projects that will be enjoyable and beneficial to the student body. In addition to spirit activities, Student Council plans philanthropic or service projects in which all students may participate.

Beginning in 3rd grade, each homeroom elects a representative. Students in 5th and 6th grade are eligible to hold an office, however, the positions of President and Vice President are reserved for 6th grade students.

Student Tutors/Junior Assistants

This program begins in the second semester of the year and is open to students in grades 5 and 6. Students who wish to participate will work in a primary classroom for 20 minutes per week assisting in a way the teacher decides would be most helpful.

Two different sessions are offered during the course of the year. A brochure precedes each session and provides information about each workshop and its instructor.
