Sierra Canyon’s Winter Parent Speaker Series brought together experts, parents, students, and educators for a meaningful exploration of wellness, connection, and digital balance.
In November, the series began with a Coffee and Conversation featuring educator and leadership specialist Cait Kamins, who offered parents research-based strategies for supporting their children with intention. Speaking in the Lower Campus Rubin Family Library, Cait shared insights on social-emotional learning, resilience, and the power of thoughtful communication—guidance rooted in her extensive work as an administrator, Wellness Coach, and partner to neuropsychologists. Her session encouraged families to deepen connection at home while helping students navigate academic and personal growth with confidence.

On December 1, the School welcomed Lori Getz, M.A., an internet safety expert, educator, and author, for a full day dedicated to digital well-being. Lori led six tailored sessions, connecting with 4th–6th Grade students and their parents, Upper Campus students, all faculty and staff, and finally Pre-K–12th Grade parents. The evening presentation, held in the Feinberg Family Gym, provided families with practical language and strategies for navigating screen time, social media, digital communication, and the ever-evolving online landscape. You can view her presentation here.
Through this year’s Winter Parent Speaker Series, Sierra Canyon continues to partner with families in nurturing the whole child—bringing in leading voices, fostering meaningful dialogue, and creating opportunities that strengthen the student experience at every stage.
