Sierra Canyon School had another outstanding year in Advanced Placement (AP) testing for the 2024-2025 school year.

In May, 258 Upper School students took 632 AP exams across 27 subjects, setting a new school record, with an impressive 94% of exams earning passing scores of 3 or higher—up from the already impressive 91% last year.

Our students achieved 100% pass rates in the following courses, outperforming global averages by at least 35%:

  • AP 3-D Art
  • AP Biology
  • AP Chemistry
  • AP Computer Science A
  • AP Drawing
  • AP Latin
  • AP Physics C – Mechanics
  • AP Precalculus
  • AP Spanish Language
  • AP Statistics
  • AP United States Government

Each year, students take advantage of Advanced Placement offerings, with 49% of sophomores, 60% of juniors, and 74% of seniors taking at least one exam. The School also celebrated 51 AP Scholars (students who scored a 3 or higher on at least three different AP exams), 36 AP Scholars with Honors (students who scored a 3 or higher on at least four exams), and 61 AP Scholars with Distinction (students who scored a 3 or higher on at least five exams).

This record-breaking year reflects not only the dedication and hard work of our students but also the strength of Sierra Canyon's rigorous academic program. From our youngest learners in Pre-Kindergarten through our Trailblazers in 12th Grade, students are supported at every stage to build the skills, curiosity, and confidence that prepare them for success in challenging coursework. With more than 25 AP courses, personalized faculty support, and a collaborative learning environment, our students are well-prepared to achieve at the highest levels—demonstrating the long-term impact of a Sierra Canyon education.
