In its first semester, Trailblazer Records has quickly evolved from a new Upper Campus course offering into a fully functioning student-led label, complete with original singles, cover art, and release events.
In November, the label released “Sunny on Da Norf,” a hip-hop single by Tron B. ’26, produced by Milo Y. ’29, with cover art designed by Sydney D. ’28. The track debuted on the label’s YouTube channel, and a release event in the Blackbox Theater during Lab brought students together to rally around the artists and commemorate an exciting milestone.
Building on the momentum, the label is now debuting It’s a SC Holiday!, a five-song holiday record featuring seasonal performances by Sierra Canyon students and album artwork crafted by Helena D. ’28. The first single, “25th”, was released yesterday, accompanied by a music video directed by Dean G. ’26. The label will premiere a new song each day from December 15–18 on its YouTube channel, mirroring the anticipation of an advent-style reveal.
Today, Trailblazer Records serves as a platform where students compose and distribute original work. These recent projects also spotlight collaboration across the visual and performing arts—uniting student musicians, designers, and performers around shared creative work.
