As the Spring Arts Festival drew to a close, students across Sierra Canyon continued sharing their talents through performances that reflected months of preparation, collaboration, and artistic growth.
Concert in the Canyon Music Festival
The spring performance season continued on April 30 with a reimagined Concert in the Canyon Music Festival. Created to showcase the growth of Sierra Canyon's music program, the new format featured a series of performances spanning classical, jazz, vocal, and instrumental ensembles, as well as Trailblazer Records artists. Throughout the evening, Upper School musicians performed classical, jazz, pop, rock, and R&B hits, as well as original works, highlighting the breadth of musical opportunities available to students.
Showstoppers Showcase and Musical Theater Performances
On May 1 and 2, Lower School performers took the stage through the Showstoppers and Musical Theater enrichment programs. Kindergarten and 1st Grade students in Showstoppers shared their work in a special showcase performance, while students in Grades 2–6 presented multiple performances of The Addams Family. These productions highlighted months of preparation while giving students opportunities to develop confidence, collaboration, and stage presence in front of live audiences.
Blaze-a-Palooza
A new tradition debuted at the Great Fair on May 15 with Blaze-a-Palooza, an afternoon of live music on the Nikou Family Field. The lineup featured musical theater excerpts, vocal performances, sets from Trailblazer Records artists, and appearances by the Faculty Band, creating a festival atmosphere that celebrated student musicians alongside faculty performers.
End-of-Year Strings and Choir Concert: Picnic in the Park
Students from Pre-Kindergarten through 7th Grade gathered on June 5 for Picnic in the Park, Sierra Canyon's end-of-year strings and choir concert. Featuring enrichment groups from beginning through advanced levels, the program included selections such as "Bohemian Rhapsody," music from Harry Potter, a newly arranged Alma Mater by Chris Sampson, and a finale performance of "Rainbow Connection" that invited audience participation.

Lower School Dance Recital: Main Character Energy — Take the Stage
The Spring Arts Festival concluded on June 6 with Main Character Energy — Take the Stage, the annual Lower School Dance Recital. Featuring dancers from Tiny Toes, Hip Hop, Jr. Company, and Company A/B, the performance showcased a year of growth, dedication, and artistry across a variety of styles and skill levels. The evening also included the presentation of the Ashley Rudolph Award, named in honor of Ashley R. '22, whose passion, initiative, and dedication helped launch Sierra Canyon's dance program. The award was presented to Emma G. '34, a longtime member of the program who has been dancing since Tiny Toes and embodies that same spirit through her leadership, mentorship, and support of fellow dancers.
Together, these performances brought the 2026 Spring Arts Festival to a close, reflecting a learning environment where students embrace creative risks and discover their voices. Across every stage and discipline, the festival highlighted a shared pursuit of excellence and the courage to share those unique talents with the Sierra Canyon community.
